Good Shepherd School Varanasi

The success of The Good Shepherd School in Saharanpur inspired us to extend our mission to another region in need. This led to the establishment of our second school in Tiuri, a rural village located approximately 60 km from Varanasi.

While Saharanpur is situated on the western border of Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi lies in the eastern part of the state, nearly 900 km away. Unlike Saharanpur, which has a mix of urban and semi-urban populations, our Varanasi project primarily serves a rural demographic, where the per capita income is significantly lower than in city areas. Most families here depend on seasonal agricultural labor, making daily sustenance a constant challenge.

When basic survival is uncertain, education often takes a backseat. Simply opening a school and waiting for enrollments was not enough. To bridge this gap, our team went door to door across villages, speaking to parents and educating them on the importance of schooling for their children. It was through these persistent efforts that The Good Shepherd School – Varanasi was established four years ago.

Since its inception, the school has been a beacon of hope, providing structured learning, moral guidance, and a nurturing environment for children who would otherwise have little to no access to education. Our commitment remains strong—to reach more children, transform more lives, and ensure that education becomes a reality for those who need it most.
